Network Engineer

Job Description

  • Network Design and Implementation:
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, Ruckus and Aerohive Access Point.
  • Configure and deploy PaloAlto firewalls And SCM (Strata cloud manager) to ensure high security and effective traffic management.
  • Perform network assessments to ensure system performance and optimization.
  • Ensure the integration of new technologies and infrastructure components into existing networks.
  • Network Security Management:
  • Configure and maintain PaloAlto to ensure secure perimeter protection.
  • Implement advanced security features such as VPN, IPSec tunnels, and threat prevention policies.
  • Monitor and mitigate network security risks, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues such as unauthorized access attempts, malware, and denial-of-service attacks.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  • Continuously monitor network performance using relevant tools and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and optimize overall performance across both hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify, investigate, and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide first-level support for network-related issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incident reports.
  • Generate reports on network health, security incidents, and performance metrics.
  • Provide clear and detailed documentation on network infrastructure, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaboration and Support:
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration of network services with servers, applications, and storage systems.
  • Assist in defining and implementing networking best practices and standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other departments and end-users.

Role specific competencies Required:

5+ Years of Experience in Network Infrastructure.


  • Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco switches and routers (Cisco IOS, Catalyst, Nexus), Ruckus and Aerohive access Point.
  • Hands-on experience with PaloAlto Firewalls, including configuration, management, security features, and VPN solutions and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, Azure ExpressRoute and VLANs.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, OpManager).
  • Familiarity with network security is the best practice, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Certifications (Preferred but not required):
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
  • Soft Skills:
