Lead Data Engineer
Experience: 9–11 Years
Location: WFO Hybrid Model 3 days from office
(Jaipur, Noida, Pune Bangalore)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer with strong technical expertise in PySpark, SQL, Kafka, Snowflake, and at least one major cloud
platform (AWS/GCP). The role will combine hands-on data engineering leadership with client management, solutioning, pre-sales, and
proposal support.
The resource will work across multiple turnkey projects and will also contribute to building data engineering solutions, estimates,
proposals, and client-facing technical discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Lead the design and development of scalable enterprise-grade data engineering solutions.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines using PySpark, Python, and SQL.
- Design and implement real-time/streaming data solutions using Apache Kafka.
- Develop data solutions using Snowflake.
- Work hands-on with at least one cloud platform: AWS or GCP.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior data engineers.
- Review code, architecture, technical designs, and implementation approaches.
- Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and reliability requirements.
Client Management
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, requirement discussions, solution workshops, and technical presentations.
- Manage technical expectations and communicate project status, risks, and dependencies.
Pre-Sales & Proposal Activities
- Support pre-sales and proposal activities for Data Engineering opportunities.
- Prepare technical solutions, architecture approaches, effort estimations, and project proposals.
- Participate in RFP/RFI responses and solution presentations.
- Conduct technical discussions with prospective clients.
- Help identify appropriate technologies and approaches based on client requirements.
- Contribute to reusable solution frameworks, accelerators, and technical documentation.
Required Skills
- 9–11 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with PySpark.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Strong experience with at least one cloud platform – AWS or GCP.
- Strong understanding of data engineering architecture and modern data platforms.
- Experience leading technical teams/projects.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in pre-sales, solutioning, estimation, and proposal development.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on turnkey/managed delivery projects.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Experience with multiple cloud/data technologies.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, streaming, ETL/ELT, and modern data architecture.
Position Requirement
- New position to support multiple Client turnkey projects, including a delivery setup involving 1 Junior Engineer.
- The resource will also support Data Engineering proposal and pre-sales activities.
