Job Description
We are looking for experienced Senior Full Stack Engineers to provide hotfix and customer-support
engineering coverage during US Eastern business hours, while also contributing to planned sprint
delivery. When a production issue reaches engineering, you are the first responder - you reproduce
it, establish root cause, ship the fix, and make sure it reaches every branch it needs to. Outside of live
escalations you build and maintain features across the React front end and Java Spring Boot back
end alongside the rest of the team. This role suits an engineer who stays calm under production
pressure, genuinely enjoys debugging, and communicates clearly with non-engineering colleagues.
This position works US Eastern business hours, which is 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST.
Responsibilities
- Act as the engineering first responder for production issues raised during US Eastern hours triage, reproduce, diagnose, and resolve.
- Investigate customer-support escalations that require engineering analysis and give the support team clear, timely answers.
- Deliver hotfixes end to end, including validating the fix on a pre-production environment before it reaches production and ensuring it is carried into the mainline branch so it cannot regress in a later release.
- Use logs, error-tracking tools, and direct database queries to establish root cause rather than treating symptoms.
- Communicate status clearly to customer success and management during active incidents, covering impact, workaround, and expected resolution.
- Contribute to planned sprint work, building and maintaining full stack features in React and Java Spring Boot during periods without live escalations.
- Write regression tests for every fix so the same defect cannot return unnoticed.
- Identify recurring issues and raise the underlying engineering work needed to eliminate them permanently.
- Participate in design and code reviews, and maintain documentation of known issues and their resolutions.
- Coordinate handover with the India-hours team so work in flight moves cleanly between shifts.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional full stack development experience with Java Spring Boot and React.js.
- Demonstrated experience supporting production systems, including incident triage, debugging, and hotfix delivery under time pressure.
- Strong diagnostic skills across the stack: reading logs, tracing API requests, inspecting browser behaviour, and querying databases directly.
- Experience with error-tracking and application monitoring tooling.
- Comfortable writing tests and production-quality code rather than quick patches.
- Willingness and availability to work US Eastern business hours on a sustained basis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with regular interaction with USbased customer success and operations colleagues.
- Experience with accounting or similar transactional data systems is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
