Kapalins builds an AI-native security and governance platform for enterprises adopting generative AI: managing AI risk, model and data exposure, governance and compliance across LLMs, copilots and agentic systems.

Enterprises in India are deploying GenAI far faster than they are governing it. Security and risk teams are being asked to sign off on systems they cannot see. That gap is our market, and it is opening now.

THE ROLE:

We're looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer who can translate the technical depth of our platform into a compelling, credible story for CISOs, CTOs, and security architects — and prove it live. You'll be the technical voice in the room alongside our sales team: running demos, answering the hard architecture and threat-model questions, and helping prospects see exactly how Kapālins secures their AI estate.

This is not a scripted-demo role. You need to genuinely understand LLM security, agentic AI risk, and enterprise compliance well enough to improvise under technical questioning from senior security buyers.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

• Deliver technical product demonstrations of the Kapālins platform — AI Trust Index, Proxy/Probe/Connector observation modes, LLM Hardening, Policy Shield, and Compliance Shield — tailored to each prospect's AI estate and threat model
• Partner with Sales on discovery calls to understand a prospect's AI/LLM footprint (models, copilots, agents) and map it to relevant platform capabilities
• Respond to technical questions on prompt injection, jailbreak defense, model integrity, data leakage, and agentic AI runtime risk in real time, with credibility
• Own technical responses for RFPs/RFIs, security questionnaires, and architecture reviews
• Map customer compliance requirements (APRA CPS 234/230, DPDP Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS) to platform features and evidence output
• Run and support proof-of-concept (PoC) deployments, including connecting a prospect's AI providers and interpreting resulting risk scores
• Act as the technical bridge between prospects, Sales, and Product — feeding real buyer objections and gaps back into the roadmap
• Build and maintain demo environments, sandbox scenarios (e.g., simulated attack/injection scenarios), and reusable technical collateral

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity and/or AI/LLM security — pre-sales, sales engineering, security engineering, or a security-adjacent technical role
• Working understanding of LLM/AI-specific threat vectors: prompt injection, jailbreaking, model poisoning, adversarial ML, data leakage, agentic AI risk
• Familiarity with security frameworks relevant to AI: OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF — and ideally exposure to regulatory frameworks like DPDP, APRA CPS 234/230, or ISO 42001
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical or executive audience, and to hold your own with a highly technical one (CISO/security architect level)
• Comfort running live product demonstrations and improvising through unscripted technical questions

STRONGLY PREFERRED:

• Prior pre-sales/sales engineering experience at a cybersecurity or AI security product company
• Hands-on familiarity with LLM APIs and platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI) or enterprise copilots (Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot)
• Experience with API integrations, gateways/proxies, or SIEM/XDR ecosystems
• Prior experience supporting RFPs, security questionnaires, or compliance evidence packages
• Startup or fast-scaling product-company experience, comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-evolving product

• Prospects leave every demo with a clear, credible understanding of how Kapālins governs their specific AI estate.
• Technical objections in the sales cycle get resolved fast and accurately, shortening deal cycles.
• PoCs convert at a high rate because the technical story lands cleanly with security buyers.
