Data Engineer

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer / Data Engineer to support a large-scale data transformation and enablement initiative. This individual will serve as a key bridge between source systems and reporting teams, helping ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Snowflake and SQL, with a strong background in data transformation, reconciliation, root cause analysis, and data quality initiatives. This role will focus on preparing and transforming data from multiple sources, troubleshooting data discrepancies, defining business logic, and delivering trusted datasets that power analytics and reporting solutions.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with business stakeholders to identify issues and deliver solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data transformation processes within Snowflake
• Analyze and reconcile data discrepancies across multiple source systems
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify data quality and reporting issues
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support business requirements
• Prepare, cleanse, and transform data for downstream analytics and reporting teams
• Define and document business logic, data definitions, and transformation rules
• Troubleshoot data integration and reporting issues across various systems
• Collaborate with stakeholders and end users to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Automate data validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency within the analytics environment
• Support enterprise transformation initiatives by enabling trusted, scalable reporting datasets

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Advanced SQL development and troubleshooting skills
• Experience performing data reconciliation and root cause analysis
• Strong understanding of data modeling, table relationships, and data structures
• Experience working with multiple data sources and integrating large datasets
• Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex data issues
• Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders and end users
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Tableau experience, including dashboard data source support
• Experience working with Salesforce data
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Experience automating data quality or validation processes
• Exposure to enterprise reporting and analytics environments

• Tableau dashboard development experience
