Job Summary

Shriram General Insurance is seeking a skilled Python Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and backend services. The role involves developing APIs, integrating databases and third-party services, optimizing application performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python.
• Build scalable and secure backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Develop and maintain integrations with databases, third-party APIs, and internal systems.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and performance issues.
• Optimize applications for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Support application deployment, maintenance, and enhancement activities.
• Maintain technical documentation for developed applications and services.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with SQL and database design concepts.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience with Redis, Celery, or asynchronous task processing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Exposure to insurance or BFSI applications will be an added advantage.
