Sr. Software Engineer – Java Engineer

Working Hours – US Pacific Time starting at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT)

Billing Rate: $10-$12/Hour

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on

expertise to architect, design, and lead development of scalable enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have deep proficiency in modern Java technologies, distributed

systems, and Microservices, with a strong background in Supply Chain Order

Management domain.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who can learn on the job. They exhibit situational

leadership, work collaboratively within a team, and motivate others to achieve business

objectives. They should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to

translate business requirements and opportunities into clear, precise and easy-to-read

technical and functional specifications. They should have excellent verbal and written

communication skills to collaborate effectively with both business stakeholders and

technical teams.


Must Have Skills:

- Expert in Java 17+

- Extensive experience implementing Design Patterns, SOLID Principles and various

Microservice Patterns

- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Microservice Architecture

- Strong experience with Spring WebFlux to build synchronous and asynchronous

Microservices

- Proficient in Kafka

- Hands-on with Cassandra and Solr

- Experience with Oracle or MySQL

- 1+ years of hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or similar AI-

assisted software development tools to enhance developer productivity in enterprise

software development

- Experience with CI (Continuous Integration) methodologies and Tools

- Hands-on experience with AppD, ELK, Grafana - including alerts and notification setup

- Unit testing with Junit and Mockito


Nice to Have:

- Experience using Elasticsearch for transactional data storage

Work Schedule Requirement

- Candidates must be able to work in alignment with the U.S. Pacific Time (PT) team.

- The selected candidate must be available until 10:00 AM Pacific Time (PT) each

business day to support onshore reporting, daily stand-ups, production support, and

collaboration with U.S. based stakeholders.

- Flexibility to participate in occasional meetings outside of standard working hours,

when required, is preferred.


Job Description:

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or

new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. Using

current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming,

and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and

procedures for installation and maintenance.


Specific Responsibilities :

• Gathers and verifies technical requirements

• Authors and audits technical design for features

• Competent in programming and debugging across multiple modules and dealing with

related external dependencies

• Writes high quality code with full test coverage

• Reviews code to ensure it is functionally correct and is of high quality

• Provides story or business requirements breakdown planning and estimation, reviews

and evaluates the team’s estimates

• Accountable for complex stories or business requirements

• Identifies feature and module dependencies

• Proposes mitigation plans for identified risks and problems

• Suggests process improvements and best practices

• Identifies new areas that could be measured

• Able to identify, evaluate and discuss alternative technologies and techniques

• Justifies decisions and achieves peer consent

• Interacts with team members, other IT teams, business users, individual contributors,

managers

• Sphere of influence is small group of peers

• Actively shares knowledge within domain


• Able to share knowledge outside domain

• Mentors co-workers within area of expertise, improves other’s productivity

• Provides guidance for the work performed by contractors
