What is the opportunity?
The Software Engineering Systems team within ADI’s Engineering Enablement group are expanding and we are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with Develpoment focused. Are you a maker? Are you passionate about building scalable and robust tools and services and deploying them on orchestration platforms like kubernetes/OpenShift? Do you have an SRE mindset? If so, this might be the role for you. We are a globally distributed software team that builds internal tooling & services using modern software development practices and deploy across different environments. We support what we build - so we focus on doing it right.
What will I be doing?
Create Standard workflows for CICD Pipelines and help and support teams in creating or migrating CICD Pipelines.
Build docker sidecars and write shared libraries that allow developers to easily create CI/CD pipelines.
Write, test & deploy scalable API’s, services & UI’s that simplify workflows and allow users to self-serve.
Automate toil (repeatable mundane tasks)
Build monitoring dashboards using tools like Prometheus & Grafana.
Become a domain expert in an orchestration platform like kubernetes
Design and build reporting and self-healing mechanisms into our tools and services.
Embody ADI’s goal of “engineering excellence” by embracing our values of honesty and integrity in everything you do.
Play an active role in mentoring other engineers and working with the Tech lead to grow the team.
What skills do I need?
3+ years of relevant industry experience in Software development and DevOps activities.
Proficient with standard software engineering practices such as agile development methodologies, DevOps workflows.
Excellent knowledge in CICD pipelines especially with GitHub Actions and Jenkins Pipelines.
Proficient with Version control systems like GitHub, Bitbucket and Perforce.
Deep knowledge of python, Go or any modern development language like Angular plus, corresponding testing / mocking frameworks.
Knowledge in UX development with hands on experience in front-end engineering (AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.)
Experience in containerization and packaging using technologies such as Docker or Podman or Containerd, Helm or Kustomize
Knowledge of orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, OpenShift etc.
Be comfortable with any flavor of Linux.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Being able to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions across a distributed team is a core requirement.
