We're Hiring — Business Development Manager (Project & Institutional Sales)

Prabal Ply is a fast-growing plywood and panel-products brand built on engineered strength, technical reliability and long-term assurance. As we expand across West Bengal and East India, we're looking for a senior sales professional to own and grow our project and institutional business — and to become the face of the brand to the people who shape lasting spaces.

The role

You'll drive project and institutional sales across your territory end to end — generating specification with architects and interior designers, building a project pipeline, and taking full ownership of what it takes to convert demand into billed business. This is an initiative-led, self-starting role: as you deliver, you'll grow into building and leading your own project-sales team.

What you'll do

• Generate business from real-estate projects, builders, developers, contractors and institutional clients.
• Build and nurture relationships with architects and interior designers to secure Prabal Ply specifications, and track them through to conversion.
• Run product presentations, sample meetings and technical discussions on the Prabal range.
• Visit project sites and developer offices on a planned beat (PJP), and coordinate with purchase teams, project managers and site engineers for entry and repeat offtake.
• Track government, PSU and institutional tenders; support registrations and product approvals.
• Own the deal to billing — decide the right route (new Channel Partner, direct billing, or an existing Channel Partner) in coordination with area sales and the Zonal Head.
• Map new opportunities, track competitor activity, and report actionable market intelligence.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years in project / institutional / specification sales.
• Industry background in plywood, laminates, tiles, paints, hardware, sanitaryware or allied building materials (only).
• An existing network among architects, designers, builders or contractors in the territory.
• Consultative, specification-led selling ability — not pure transactional selling.
• Fluency in Bengali, Hindi and English.
• Kolkata-based and willing to travel extensively across the assigned territory; own two-wheeler / four-wheeler with a valid driving licence preferred.
• Graduate in any discipline (a technical or business qualification is a plus).
• Comfortable with smartphones, basic reporting tools and CRM / travel-tracking apps.
