Network Deployment Engineer – AI Data Center Infrastructure

  • Remote

Job Description

Our global client is building out this next-generation AI infrastructure. We are assembling an elite team of Network Deployment Engineers in India to act as the primary architects and remote custodians of these high-performance environments.

Target Background: Tier-1 Telecom Service Providers (Telcos), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), or Managed Network Service Providers (NSPs).

We need engineers who treat Layer 1 fiber optics with the same programmatic discipline as Layer 3 BGP routing.

Minimum 6+ years of Relevant Experience is a must.

Key Skills & Technical Fabric

We do not expect you to know every single tool on day one, but your DNA should span across three core layers:

1. High-Density Optical & Physical Infrastructure (L1/L2)

  • Deep familiarity with Single-Mode (SMF/OS2) and Multi-Mode (MMF/OM3/OM4) fiber plants.
  • Expertise in identifying and resolving physical layer anomalies: FEC/RS-FEC negotiation errors, PCS errors, micro-loss/micro-bends, and polarity issues (MTP/MPO 8-fiber mapping).
  • Hands-on history diagnosing optics using DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring) levels, light budgets, and reading OTDR reports.
  • Understanding of structured cabling components: ODFs (Optical Distribution Frames), patch panels, and cassette compatibility.

2. Core Networking & Data Center Routing (L2/L3)

  • Production-level deployment of enterprise-grade hardware: Arista, Juniper, or Cisco.
  • Solid grasp of data center routing and topology discovery: BGP (RIB vs. FIB validation), LLDP topologies, and LACP link aggregation.
  • Tuning networks for performance: Configuring and troubleshooting MTU (Jumbo Frames ~9000), flow control, and pause frames.
  • Experience operating Out-of-Band (OOB) / DCN Management Networks and Serial Console Servers to recover isolated data-planes during major outages.

3. Operations, Documentation & Automation

  • Procedural Rigor: Experience working strictly within a MOP (Method of Procedure) framework, executing precise rollbacks/freezes, and handling vendor RMAs.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Baseline exposure to scale deployments using Ansible, Terraform, or Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP).
  • Data Center Mapping: Ability to interpret and update rack elevations, IPAM registries, port/cable maps, and BOM (Bill of Materials) records.
