Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in API Management (APIM) (Preferably Tyk, APIGEE, Layer7 etc.), including API lifecycle management, governance, security, policy enforcement, versioning, developer portals, and API product management.
  • Understanding of API and messaging security, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, mTLS, secrets management, and access control.
  • Hands-on experience with the Confluent Platform / Apache Kafka, including event-driven architecture, Kafka brokers, topics, producers, consumers, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, stream processing, and platform administration.
  • Experience building and maintaining enterprise integration platforms, enabling scalable, secure, resilient, and reusable integration capabilities across applications.
  • Strong Platform Engineering mindset with experience building self-service platforms, improving developer experience (DevEx), platform automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation for automated infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of GitOps practices using tools such as Argo CD or Flux for declarative deployments, configuration management, and continuous delivery.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native integration services.
  • Experience implementing observability for APIs and integration platforms using monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture, and microservices.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across architecture, application, and platform teams to drive enterprise integration best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise API and event-driven integration solutions using API Management platforms and Apache Kafka.
  • Manage the API lifecycle, including design, governance, security, versioning, publishing, monitoring, and developer enablement.
  • Build and operate Kafka-based integration platforms, supporting application migration, event streaming, and real-time data processing.
  • Implement cloud-native and platform engineering practices using Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and GitOps.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure platform security, observability, and reliability through monitoring, logging, tracing, incident management, and adherence to enterprise security standards.
  • Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, middleware, QA, and business teams to deliver scalable integration solutions, provide operational support, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including AI-driven automation opportunities.

Educational Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Postgraduate in Computer Science / Information Technology.
  • Professional experience 5 to 7 yrs.
